Based on RAJAR’s Q1 2026 report and YouGov ratings, we have compiled a ranking of the most popular radio stations in the UK by weekly audience reach and the percentage of people with a positive opinion of each station.

These stations broadcast live breaking world and local updates, discuss current issues affecting society, and provide both live and recorded audio coverage of major sporting events. The BBC's 40 local radio stations constitute the majority of UK news radio.
