Greatest Hits Radio 60s

Greatest Hits Radio 60s is a UK national digital station launched by Bauer Media Audio UK in September 2024. Broadcasting in English via DAB and smart apps, it targets older listeners with a pure 1960s pop and rock format.

The schedule relies on veteran UK broadcasters. Richard Allinson handles mornings. Alex Lester hosts afternoons. Paul Gambaccini takes the evening shift.

Why tune in? The station offers a dedicated escape for fans of the decade without modern chart tracks. RAJAR figures for Q2 2026 show 433,000 weekly listeners who want a strict 1960s format.

Compared to Absolute Radio 60s, Greatest Hits Radio 60s uses mainstream pop and known presenters rather than a pure rock focus. It lacks local FM frequencies, and overnight automated blocks can feel repetitive. Still, the curation works well for genre fans.

Daytime show pacing is steady, and the presenter commentary is straightforward. Late-night automated blocks get repetitive, but daytime hours maintain a solid rhythm.
